Are you thinking of planning a New England destination wedding? We say YES to that idea!
New England is the perfect place to plan a wedding even if you don't live here. In fact, many of our couples are planning from around the country and across the world. Why? Some couples grew up here and have moved away for work or life, but want to get hitched near their hometown. Others went to college in the Boston area and perhaps met their significant other during that time. And some couples simply fell in love with our special location after visiting.
Hi there! My name is Sarah, and I'm the owner of Olio: Modern/Industrial Wedding & Event Space in Peabody, Massachusetts. I am a New England native and have been planning weddings for over 10 years with my other company, Without A Hitch. Five years ago, my mom and I set out to open our own wedding and event venue. Now here we are! I'm writing to today to share my expertise on New England destination weddings.
New England has something to offer couples of all backgrounds and interests. Whether you're looking for a historic city wedding, a fun loft space, a romantic coastal vibe, or a rustic barn, you'll find it here.
Here are just a few of the reasons why New England is a great destination for weddings:
Historic charm: New England is home to some of the most beautiful and historic cities in the country, including Boston, Salem, and Newport. Our own city of downtown Peabody is not only historic but such a fabulous place to visit.
Stunning scenery: New England is also home to some of the most beautiful scenery in the country, from the rolling hills of Vermont to the beaches of Cape Cod. We are so lucky to be just a few minutes away from some of the most desirable waterfront in New England, located in neighboring Salem, Gloucester, Marblehead, Beverly, and Rockport.
Accessibility: Boston is a major travel hub for airlines and easily accessible by car or train. From Boston's Logan Airport, many destinations in New England are within just an hour or two drive, making the area easily accessible for visiting guests.
Affordability: New England is a relatively affordable destination for weddings, especially when compared to other popular wedding destinations like California or New York. You can find everything from budget-friendly venues to luxurious resorts, so you're sure to find something that fits your budget. At Olio, we share our pricing publicly to be transparent and help with planning.
Excellent food: New England is home to some of the best cuisine in the country, so you're sure to find the perfect food to complement your wedding.
